The Rockwool Silicone sealant is an excellent solution for combining joints and ensuring that they can move effectively or forming two joints together of dissimilar materials. The fire silicone sealant offers un-primed adhesion to almost all building surfaces as well as securing up to 4 hours of fire protection in all joints up to 40mm (within the correct system). If the Silicone is applied effectively and according to the instructions it can offer 25 years of service.

ROCKWOOL Fire Resistant Silicone Sealant is a one part alkoxy cure silicone with excellent un-primed adhesion to most building surfaces.

This high specification product is designed to be used in joints with high movement capability or where they are formed between dissimilar substrates, e.g. steel and masonry.


ROCKWOOL Fire Resistant Silicone Sealant is a one party alkoxy cure silicone supplied in 310ml cartridges.

ROCKWOOL Fire Resistant Silicone Sealant offers excellent adhesion to a number of substrate types which include steel and masonry.

ROCKWOOL Fire Resistant Silicone Sealant is suitable for joints up to 40mm and can provide up to 4 hours fire resistance.


Application of ROCKWOOL Fire Resistant Silicone Sealant it is a simple process as the product is extruded from a cartridge loaded into a standard sealant gun.

The depth of the joint will depend on the gap to be filled and the fire rating required (see Table 1).

All surfaces must be thoroughly clean and free of bond breaking contaminants prior to application of the sealant.

No priming is required for most construction substrates; however, we recommended that a small area be tested on substrates.

The sealant should not be applied if the ambient temperature is below 5° C as adhesion will be impaired.
